Installing Remain
Open the downloaded ZIP, then open Install Remain. Drag Remain into Applications and choose Open Remain. macOS may ask you to confirm the first launch.
Updating Remain
Open Remain’s Settings and choose Check for Updates. If Remain is already installed, use this to get the latest version.
Connecting providers
Choose Connect for each provider. ChatGPT shows the allowance shared by Codex and ChatGPT Work, using your local Codex sign-in. Regular Chat and Voice limits are separate. Claude requires Claude Code and a paid Claude subscription. Install them from openai.com/codex and code.claude.com if needed. Framer uses its own sign-in window. Remain reads a provider only after you choose to connect it.
Usage is unavailable
“Showing last update” means Remain could not get fresh usage. Claude checks at most once every 30 minutes, and provider rate limits can delay the next check. If Remain asks you to renew Claude access, open Claude Code and run /usage so Claude can renew its own sign-in. Reconnect only if Remain asks you to. “No active session” means Claude explicitly reports no active five-hour window; unavailable data is shown as a dash.
Menu bar and notifications
Hold Command and drag menu bar items to make space. Enable Remain banners in System Settings if alerts are hidden.
